The call by the Organ Troika comes amid rising acts of sporadic violence in Eswatini, with all sides blaming one another.

In recent days, a prominent opposition leader and chairperson of the multi-stakeholder forum, Thulani Rudolf Maseko was gunned down.

President Hage Geingob, in his capacity as Chair of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defense, and Security, says a meeting of the Organ Troika will be convened soon.

This follows a courtesy call Dr. Geingob paid to the monarch of Eswatini, King Mswati III, at the Lozitha Palace in Mbabane on Friday.

The SADC Organ Troika has tasked the Secretariat with preparing an updated report of the SADC Mission in Mozambique.

This is contained in a statement released by the Presidency following the closed-door meeting of Presidents Hage Geingob, Cyril Ramaphosa and Hakainde Hichilema in Lesotho's capital Maseru on Friday.

According to the statement, the Troika leaders also discussed the status of the SADC Force Intervention Brigade in the Democratic Republic of Congo and resolved to hold consultations with authorities in that country.
