The Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia is on a campaign to get more blood as the holiday season approaches.
The team was spotted at Grove Mall in Windhoek, this campaign is also taking place in Oshakati.
People could be observed voluntarily giving blood, something that is encouraging to see.
The team is targeting 50 people to donate blood by the end of the day.
NAMBTS' Senior Marketing Officer, Michael Sheyavali said, today they are targeting around 50 people, at all centers that are operative. "This is to stock up for enough blood as we are heading into the festive season."
Blood is in constant demand for treatment and following childbirth or exchange transfusion in newborn babies.
The need for blood never stops and every blood donation gives the person who receives it a new chance to life.
"Blood is never enough because you never know what the future holds for us it is just to make sure that we have enough going forward," said NAMBTS' team leader, Simon Simon.
Namibians are encouraged to come out in numbers and donate blood to save a life.
Incentives such as airtime and goodies are given to blood donors.
