The Oshikoto Region is the transit region for northern Namibia as well as other neighboring countries. Therefore, the region expects a large number of travelers during the festive season.

To ensure the safety and security of travelers, the Oshikoto police regional commander, Commissioner Teopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku, today launched the 2022–2023 festive season operation at the Tsumeb roadblock.

The aim is to ensure that those traveling from and towards the northern regions adhere to the safety regulations and procedures of using the public roads, as well as check for other criminal activities.

The operation runs until January 20, 2023
