FarPoint Investments has assisted the Zeraeua Traditional Authority at Omatjete in the Erongo Region with new modern technology equipment to help with the office operation and render better and more efficient service to the community.
Items donated worth N$130 thousand consist of computers, a printer, a water tank, and solar light.
The general manager at Farpoint Investments, Maggie Shi, pledged the company's commitment to assist in the development of the community in Omatjete.
"The last meeting when we were here we promised and now we have committed to our promise and also now we are planning on our social responsibility for next year."
Ombara Manase Zeraeua welcomed the donation by FarPoint Investments saying it will assist the traditional office in its operations as it had one computer, which delays its work.
Zeraeua adds that the donated solar lights will be given to communities in far remote areas that are being terrorised by elephants at night.
"When we started we said, where are we going to start, do we start with the drilling of boreholes? We also said some communities are in darkness and elephants are disturbing them on a daily basis, today we are going to give them solar lights."
Ombara Zeraeua also called upon other private entities to come on board and assist the government with community development
