A journalist from Lesotho National Broadcasting Service (LNBS), Tieang Maraisane, spent two weeks at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) as part of a program aimed at equipping regional media practitioners with skills and expanding their knowledge in broadcast journalism.

The program is part of the Public Media Alliance project's initiatives and offers members an equal opportunity to exchange ideas, views, and best practices in public media.

Maraisane was one of eight journalists chosen to participate in the program this year.

Maraisane chose to travel to Namibia and was assigned to the nbc Newsroom, where she was exposed to a new way of gathering news in which journalists are multi-skilled and contribute to TV, radio, and digital platforms.

The program also aims to create a networking environment, bring about change, and allow journalists to experience new ways of dealing with issues in the media industry.

She says the only drawback to her attachment was that it was short, as she was expected to gain more experience in TV production as well as writing scripts.

However, she was happy that during her stay she learned video editing and how to write hard news for radio.
