A case of arson and an alternative charge of murder were opened at the Wanaheda Police Station against a 30-year-old woman who set a shack alight at Windhoek's Okahandja Park, resulting in the deaths of her boyfriend and a female companion.

The gruesome incident happened early this morning.

According to Nampol spokeswoman Kauna Shikwambi, the suspect became enraged after discovering her boyfriend with another woman.

According to witnesses, she allegedly threatened to burn down the shack at the informal settlement located outside Windhoek.

After the pair, a 40-year-old and 28-year-old who cannot be identified yet went to sleep, the suspect set the shack afire.

The shack burned to the ground, and the two burned beyond recognition.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Katutura Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
