With the reopening of schools today, some parents in the capital are still seeking placement for their children.
Some have been told to at least wait for fifteen days, as most classes have already exceeded their limit of accommodating between 38 and 42 learners per class.
Boys were reminded to cut their hair short during the assembly at Highline Secondary School, while girls were reminded to do their hair neatly.
Anyone who is found bullying others will be sent home, and cellphones are not allowed at school.
Visibly, some learners are excited to be back on school grounds and happy to move to the next grade, while others are not as excited as they need to repeat grades.
Sacky Nghuulikwa, a teacher at the Highline Secondary School, encouraged learners to study hard this year, warning that there will be no automatic promotion for those who have not met the requirements.
A disappointed Nghuulikwa said there were only twenty learners who made it to grade 11, and in this regard, there will only be one grade 11 class at the school this year to make space for grade 10 learners who are able to repeat to do so.
To accommodate more learners, the Havana Secondary School has increased the number of Grade 8 classrooms from six to ten.
The Havana Secondary School's principal, Innocent Mweti, says the school is trying to push to a limit of 37 to 38 learners per class.
