The 2022/23 FNB Women's Super League, which was launched on Tuesday with the announcement of the opening round of matches on Saturday, is here and it's promising to be the biggest one yet with more than one team favourite to win the title for the first time.

While over the past three years there was no women's football league action in the country as a result of infighting within the NFA, a new sponsorship deal has brought the league back to life.

14 teams will take a shot at reigning supreme this season and it's hard to write off any of the formations at this point.

NFA League Director Mabos Vries had some exciting news for the ladies - something that will surely prompt them to give it their best.

The teams are raring to go and some have made good new signings while the more established stars in women's football are looking to keep pushing forward to win the hearts of national selectors for possible inclusion in the national team set-up.
