Land acquisition by Foreign Nationals

A total of 281 foreign nationals own 1,4 million hectares of agricultural land in Namibia. Land Reform Minister Utoni Nujoma says some of such land is owned by foreign nationals in partnership with Namibians. Germans own 126 farms measuring more than 616 000 hectares, followed by 81 South Africans occupying more than 349 000 hectares, seven United States nationals with more than 82 000 hectares, 14 farms measuring 49 256 hectares owned by Austrians and six farms of 42 741 hectares owned by Swiss nationals.

Namibia implements UN Security Council resolution sanctions against North Korea

Namibia has started to implement the UN Security Council resolution sanctions against North Korea, and as a result has cut ties with two companies from the Asian country. The two companies are the Korea Mining Development Trading Corporation-KOMID, a state-owned arms dealer, and Mansudae Overseas Project-MOP which had several projects in Namibia.

US: Democrats promise to keep up pressure on gun control after sit-in

Although Republicans refused to agree to a vote on tighter gun laws, Democrats have vowed to continue their campaign. DW spoke with one of the protesting lawmakers about the situation on the Congress floor. Republican majority leaders adjourned the US House of Representatives early Thursday, putting a damper on hopes an all-night sit-in would force a vote on gun legislation.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC.
