Peace Corps Namibia has sworn in 30 volunteers at Okanhandja who will be serving in all the country's 14 regions.

The ceremony was the 53rd group of the Economic Empowerment and Community Health HIV/AIDS Programme, which will see the candidates serving for the next two years.

Vulnerable and destitute households in 20 towns and 18 villages in urban and peri-urban areas will receive N$600 from the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare's Conditional Basic Income Grant. 

Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security Minister Dr. Albert Kawana has called on August 26 for those who took over the ongoing construction of the Kunene police regional headquarters at Opuwo in the Kunene Region to fasten the completion of the project.

The Okakarara Farmers Association (OKAFA) has placed six mini hammermills at the disposal of farmers in villages in the Okakarara Constituency.

The aim is to help farmers produce livestock fodder.

President Nangolo Mbumba is on a three-day visit to the Kavango regions visiting green scheme projects to assess their productivity.

The President's first stop was the Sikondo Green Scheme, situated in Kavango West Region.
