John Nakuta, the Media Ombudsman of Namibia, says there is a reduction in disinformation and misinformation during the current pre-election period compared to the lead-up to the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

At Khorixas, part of about 500 uniformed officers who registered as voters in the region cast their votes.

By 16:00, the Khorixas polling station had captured 93 voters.

By the afternoon, Opuwo recorded 231 voters, while Okanguati recorded 55.

In the Omusati Region, long queues were observed at Outapi police headquarters.

Omusati Police Commander Commission Ismael Basson was among those who cast his vote first.

In the Kavango East Region, Returning Officer Sonia Neumbo confirmed to nbc News that voters' education had an impact on the elections as there were no challenges faced during the special elections. 

In the Ohangwena Region, ECN Electoral Officer Henock Hanga was pleased that political parties' election observers executed their duties and observed the code of conduct.
