Subsistence farmers in the northern regions have welcomed the abundant rainfall that has been pouring since last week.

They are hoping that the pattern remains for better yields and grazing land.

Six Christmas babies born at Oshakati Hospital

Six babies were born on Christmas Day at Oshakati Intermediate Hospital in the Oshana Region.

There are three girls and three boys, all of whom are in good health.

Since December 1st, 398 babies have been born at the hospital.

Otjozondjupa Police record two murder cases

The police in the Otjozondjupa Region have recorded two murder cases on Christmas Eve.

The region's Community Liaison Officer, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, says one of the murders occurred at Otjiwarongo's Tsaxa-Aibes location of an unidentified Angolan man who was stabbed to death with a knife.

Two people die in Zambezi in separate incidents

A resident of Ngonga village, John Sakubenya, died in a hit-and-run today at Namushasha in the Zambezi Region.

Authorities believe a vehicle that fled the scene struck Sakubenya.

Sakubenya was found lying on the road with severe head injuries and a fractured right arm in the area of Namushasha.
