Lumpy skin disease outbreak detected in Okakarara

The Directorate of Veterinary Services has detected an outbreak of lumpy skin disease (LSD) in the Okakarara constituency of the Otjozondjupa Region.

So far, 39 cattle showed clinical signs of the disease, and two have died.

The seven traditional authorities, constituting the Okandjoze Chiefs Assembly, say they will not accept a joint declaration between the Namibian and German governments regarding the reparations for the genocide. 

They also plan to boycott the upcoming joint declaration roadshow in the region.

It is also where national hero José Martí is buried.

Inspection of National Assembly election materials continues at ECN

The inspection of voting material used during the National Assembly election held last month continues at the Electoral Commission of Namibia’s headquarters.

ECN Commissioner Pius Iikwambi says the process is proceeding smoothly so far and expressed confidence they will be done by 17:00 today.
