Omusati Electoral Officer Elizabeth Shiningayamwe has expressed concerns about the insufficient number of vehicles needed from the public for the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) during the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in her region.

The spokesperson of the polling officials who were threatening to boycott elections in the Kavango West Region if the ECN did not increase their training rate was informed by the Regional Electoral Officer, Elizabeth Visagie, that the commission would no longer be needing his services. 

Some 5,042 police officers will be deployed to 2,521 polling teams, covering 4,677 polling stations countrywide, in preparation for the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Wednesday.

Election materials are being deployed at the Otavi Depot in the Otjozondjupa Region.

According to ECN Electoral Officer Victoria Amutenya, the region has 207 teams.

Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) President Panduleni Itula has promised to lead a thriving Nambia where everyone will prosper.

Itula was speaking during his party's final rally, held in Okandengedi in Oshana Region.
