The US-based Africa-America Institute (AAI) will honour the legacy of Namibia’s late President, Hage Geingob, during its 40th Annual Awards Gala in New York on Tuesday evening.

The Annual Awards Gala is a premier event celebrating the achievements of Africans and the global African diaspora.

Over 20 micro, small, and medium enterprises received equipment under the government's Equipment Aid Scheme in Erongo Region, bringing the total number of beneficiaries of the programme to 3000 countrywide.

The City of Windhoek (CoW), with support from the European Union (EU), donated six cargo bikes to SME operators.

The bikes will be used to collect waste across the city for recycling and making necklaces, shoes, and clothing.

The initiative seeks to improve solid waste management.
