Over 600 jobs created through government's food for cash programme

More than 600 temporary jobs were created in rural areas through the government's food for cash programme over the past twelve months.

The statistics were revealed by the Minister of Urban and Rural Development at a five-day Rural Development Review and Planning workshop at Keetmanshoop.

The Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC countries (ECF-SADC) says the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) appears to be ready to conduct the 2024 elections. 

This was contained in a report issued following ECF-SADC's PreElection Assessment Mission to Namibia from the 16th to 20th of this month.

Four minors who died in freezer laid to rest

The four minors, who earlier this week died from suffocation in a disused freezer in Cowboy Settlement, have been laid to rest.

A combined memorial service was held for the four children on Thursday in Katima Mulilo.
