China donates N$76.5 million in rice for drought relief

China has delivered its second batch of rice donations to the government, worth N$76.5 million, to support the 2024/25 drought relief programme.

The first batch of 27,200 bags of rice was delivered in February, earmarked for Oshikoto.

Germany remains top source of tourists to Namibia

Germany remains in the top spot as the overseas destination from which tourists arrive in the country.

The 2024 Tourist Statistical Report launched by the Environment, Forestry and Tourism Minister Indileni Daniels shows that over 111,000 tourists arrived from Germany during that year.

Kavango West Region has recorded 19 road fatalities this year.

Road crashes also increased by 115 cases, compared to last year.

In 2025, Kavango West recorded a total number of 307 crashes involving 332 vehicles.

One hundred and thirty-two people sustained serious to slight injuries.

ECN and CRAN sign agreement to promote informed citizen participation

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) and the Communication Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) signed a collaboration agreement reaffirming the importance of fostering informed citizen participation and democratic governance. 

The MoU was signed in Windhoek today.
