A veteran of the liberation struggle, Rebekka Nepemba Shaningwa, was buried at Ntara village in the Kavango West Region.

Shaningwa died on the 18th of June at the age of 75.

Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare says the Olufuko Cultural Festival remains a blueprint for preserving culture and tradition and should be supported to ensure it continues for generations to come.

The tombstone unveiling for freedom fighter, Kephes Harry "King Jury" Conradie, was held on Saturday morning at Katutura Cemetery in Dolam, marking the 11th anniversary of his death.

Conradie, born in 1937 in Windhoek's Old Location, was a notable figure in Namibia's liberation struggle.
