By Breschneff T Katjaimo Namibian Cyclist Dan Craven has completed the Individual Time Trial at the Rio Olympics, despite not being prepared for it. Craven was in Rio to compete in the road race event, which took place on Saturday. That race was supposed to be the end of the Olympics for the bearded Namibian. But after several crashes and injuries, the organisers had an opening at the time trial, and they asked Craven to fill the gap. The 33-year-old cyclist was not prepared at all, as he only had a road bike, not a time trial bike, but he offered to stand in and represent his country nonetheless. “ I decided to do it for my country, so I just agreed to participate without proper equipment’s, but nevertheless, I finished the race", said Craven. The 54km race took place under wet and windy weather conditions, and Graven completed the race, finishing last. It was eventually won by Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland, followed by Tom Dumoullin of Netherlands and Britain’s Chris Foome.
