The people of Gobabis will soon benefit from a gym facility. Regular exercise and visits to the gym may lower your risk of developing diabetes, metabolic syndrome and some types of cancer. Gym sessions also allows a person to maintain their fitness levels. 38-year-old Blecky Tjingaete has decided to invest in a gym that will open its doors for the residents of the Omaheke Region soon. The BT Gym - as it will be known - is expected to be the only gym facility at Gobabis. Tjingaete, who is a former footballer, says despite it being a business he saw the need for Gobabis to have a place that will assist its people to stay healthy. “The gym would help people to stay fit and healthy, and it’s known that medical expenses can get very high. We are in the cattle country where people eat more meat, so we need to shed off this fat and change lifestyles,” he added. According to research, going to the gym every day puts individuals in contact with people on a regular basis and is aimed to enhance their social life as well as the way they feel about themselves. Going to the gym will also help people to lose weight and get in shape. The Gobabis gym is expected to open its doors on the 29th of this month.
