KINDA PROMOTIONS AWAITS SANCTIONG GREENLIGHT

With less than five days to go, Kinda Boxing Promotions is still waiting for the Boxing Control Board to sanction the World Boxing Association's Pan African Super Welterweight title fight. Kinda Nangolo of Kinda Promotions said the fight has been sanctioned by the WBA and all preparations are at an advanced stage. He, however, pointed out that they are still waiting for the Namibian Boxing and Wrestling Control Board to give the go-ahead. “I have written to the board last month already, but up to know they did not communicate back to me. It’s very stressful, but I am still waiting to hear from the board chairman” Nangolo explained. If everything goes as planned, the fight - which is slated for Saturday night at the Windhoek Country club - will see Namibian super welterweight champion Anthony Jarman taking on South Africa's Nkululeko Mhlongo. The Namibian has competed in 15 fights of which he won 13, lost one and drew one, while Mhlongo has won 14 fights, lost two and drew one. Jarman won the belt when he stepped into the ring against Christiano Ndombassy from Angola in May this year. According to the promoter, eight bouts are expected to entertain the fans. On his part, Jarman earlier confirmed that he is fit as he has been training tirelessly in South Africa for the past two weeks and has gained some technical skills. Approached for comment, the Acting Administrator of the Namibia Boxing and Wrestling Control Board, Eckard Modise referred NBC to the Chairperson of the Board, Ellison Hiarunguru, who was not available for comment.
