The Namibia Premier League's offices are still operational, despite the fact that no top league football is played in the country at the moment. The Namibia Premier League (NPL) offices are situated at the football house in Katutura. They are run by Tovey Hoebeb, who is heading the office as the League administrator; Lorraine Gowases, who is the Premier League's Secretary and Mervin Geiriseb, who is the secretary of the first division leagues. The three were hard at work this morning and according to League Administrator Tovey Hoebeb, there is a lot of work that needs to be done. “We are writing letters to potential sponsors, we also got visited by players who want to move from one team to another all these things are still happening.” Hoebeb also told NBC Sport that the fixtures for the upcoming season have been set up and that, once sponsorship has been secured, dates will be allocated. The reason the league is not operational is due to a lack of funds, but administration has to go ahead nonetheless. “NPL is a big institution and we could have been on the street like the teachers but we are not because, yes there are funds to pay us” said Hoebeb. According to Hoebeb, the league bosses have included the positions of the Chief Executive Officer, Marketing Officer as well as League Coordinator in the new budget. Despite the obvious challenges, Hoebeb is optimistic that the league will still kick off this year.
