NPL approves new constitution

The Namibia Premier LeagueThe new Constitution, which will hopefully pave the way for the league to kick-start, was submitted to Namibia Football Association today for endorsement. The football governing body will now study the Constitution and once satisfied, forward it to the world football governing body-FIFA, for yet another look and approval. This process is expected to be completed by Wednesday next week. If the Constitution is given the go ahead, the NPL will hold a congress to ratify it and elect a new leadership that will steer the league's ship. It will also be expected from the new leadership to announce the date of the league's kick-off. In their behind-the-scene efforts to clean their house, the NPL was aided by two FIFA representatives - Sebastian Neuf and Nic Coward. Efforts by NBC Sport to get comments from those involved proved futile as they stood firm by an earlier decision not to speak to the media until an official announcement will be made. (NPL) yesterday held a Board of Governors meeting in the capital where the new Constitution and regulations were approved.
