Round 9 10 of NPL to start with Civics,BA clash

By: Breschneff Katjaimo Last weekend 30 goals were scored in round 7 and 8 of the current NPL season. On Friday, Black Africa and Civics will kick off round 9 of the Namibia Premier League, with both teams hoping for a win. Black Africa’s mentor Lucky Richter is happy with the way his boys are responding to the strategies that he is deploying. “The boys are coming to the party, and we understand each other for now. The issue of discipline aspects is surely coming in, but the players are responding to the coach or technical committee in good and positive way. So far the preparations are going well,” said Richter. Richter revealed that his team has to start collecting much-needed points. Black Africa are 3rd on the Namibia Premier League Log standing. A former BA player himself, Richter says they don’t have major injuries in the squad and have urged fans to come in numbers to help the team win matches. “I really believe that things will change for the better now. The main purpose is to collect maximum points this weekend. We need fans right now, it will be wise to have them rally behind the players if we want to change things,” he added. Meanwhile, Civics players have also been hard at work, making sure to be ready for Black Africa. The Civilians collected only one point against Young Chiefs, while losing against Chief Santos - something which has forced Brian Isaacs to change the squad for this weekend’s fixtures. “After looking at last weekend games and the way we play, I will definitely bring in some changes to my team that will play against Black Africa on Friday,” Issacs announced. However, the soft spoken mentor who still has respect for his former team Black Africa added that Civics – as a youthful team- will be ready to lock horns come this weekend. Civics are currently on 7th position with 9 points, while Black Africa will go into tomorrow’s match with 15 points in the 3rd position. The match is scheduled to be played on Friday as of 20h00 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
