The Governor of the Oshana Region, Elia Irimari, says roads in the region have been damaged by floodwaters following heavy rains, proving a hazard to motorists. 

The Kunene Region has been severely affected by the massive inflow of water following heavy rains over the past few weeks, with residents in both urban and rural areas seriously affected.

The Okahandja municipality restored the town's water supply earlier this afternoon. 

The disruption was caused by a pipe burst on Thursday after the heavy rains, which damaged the town's main water supply line. 

Heavy rainfall in the Khomas Region has severely damaged road infrastructure, limiting motorists' access to their destinations. Some roads are closed due to the rains and independence celebrations.  

Oshana Region Governor Elia Irimari has warned residents of rising water levels and potential flooding due to heavy rains in Namibia and southern Angola, which have filled the Cuvelai-Etosha Basin.  

Heavy rains recorded on Sunday in the ||Kharas Region have wreaked havoc, causing damage to roads and houses.

Heavy rains in the Kavango East and West have left some residents picking up the pieces over the weekend. 

Lambert Haingura, a resident of Hamweyi Village in the Kavango West Region, is one of those affected, as the weekend's rain was accompanied by lightning, which struck and killed seven of his cattle.

Heavy rains caused extensive damage to properties in some residential areas in Rundu yesterday.

This morning people were fixing their houses and access roads to their homes.

The homeless community residing at the Khomasdal Stadium is currently facing a dire situation as their tents have been destroyed by the heavy rains received in the capital since Thursday. 

Heavy rains received on Saturday have left many houses surrounded by water at the Ehenye residential area in Oshakati, Oshana Region.
