The Katima Mulilo Town Council has begun relocating residents affected by heavy rains from the Dairy Location to the Ngweze Community Hall.

Acts of kindness have poured in for a mother of five, Sharon Muyatwa, who was left destitute after their home was flooded by heavy rains. 

Muyatwa and her family were left without shelter and food.
The Katima Mulilo Town Council stepped in.

The Kongola-Katima Mulilo Road has been described as a "disaster" by the Minister of Works and Transport, Veiko Nekunda, indicating that the portion of the road damaged by heavy rains needs urgent rehabilitation.

The Katima Mulilo Town Council says plans to build a bus and taxi rank will soon come to fruition, following complaints of flooded hiking points by drivers and passengers.
Due to recent heavy rains, hiking points have become saturated, making accessibility a hurdle.

Heavy rains on Wednesday night have left dozens of households in Chotto Compound homeless after floodwaters inundated their homes, ruining food supplies, documents and personal belongings.

A family of twelve in Kalkfeld, whose house was blown off by heavy rains and strong winds, has received assistance.

The house belongs to a pensioner, Violine Tjandero.

Water flow from the Von Bach dam is stabilising after a recent power supply interruption affecting the main booster station due to heavy rains.

The Okahandja municipality restored the town's water supply earlier this afternoon. 

The disruption was caused by a pipe burst on Thursday after the heavy rains, which damaged the town's main water supply line.
