Acts of kindness have poured in for a mother of five, Sharon Muyatwa, who was left destitute after their home was flooded by heavy rains.

Muyatwa and her family were left without shelter and food.
The Katima Mulilo Town Council stepped in.

Cornelius Matomola is the Chief Fire Officer at Katima Mulilo Town Council, who says, "We have already identified places where we will relocate the affected victims, and then we are also arranging for tents to be pitched where they'll be relocated, and then it's not only in this area; we still have other locations as well. There are quite a lot of locations that are affected, and if you look at the weather currently, we still expect a lot of people to be affected."

Some businesses, such as Shakar Megamarket and business owner Nyazo Libetwa, donated food items and clothing.
Some offered temporary shelter until the end of the rain season.
The flooding follows continuous heavy rains that have affected several parts of Katima Mulilo.
