The Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) has outlined how community supervision is implemented for offenders released on parole and remission conditions.

Offenders at the Evaristus Shikongo Correctional Facility who are about to complete their sentence will now be moved into a home environment, which is the Minimum Units, in preparation for their release. 

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security has praised the Namibia Correctional Services (NCS) for its continued achievements in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating offenders.

Namibia and Zambia have established a joint technical committee to look into the needs of Zambian nationals serving time in Namibian jails.

This team will focus on determining if offenders want to complete the remainder of their sentences in Zambia.

Offenders serving time at the Evaristus Shikongo Correctional Facility near Tsumeb frequently turn to God for hope and the institution's annual choir competition allows offenders a platform to worship.
