The verdict on illegal lithium mining in the Daures Constituency of the Erongo Region is ready to be tabled in Parliament.

This is according to the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources, Tjekero Tweya, who said the results might be tabled on Thursday or next week.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources is dismayed by the disparities in accommodation for Chinese nationals and Namibians who work at a lithium mine near Uis.

The Landless People's Movement (LPM) Member of Parliament, Hennie Seibeb. has called for the enactment of laws to control and manage lithium mining in Namibia.

Seibeb said this when he motivated his motion in the National Assembly, which was supported by many MPs.
