Three arrested for armed robbery in Okahandja

Three men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that took place last night at Nau-Aib, Okahandja, while two other suspects remain at large.

The men, aged between 28 and 30, stole 37 packs of Closwa Biltong and N$21,500 in cash.

Study finds 43% of pre-trial detentions in Namibia unnecessary

A pre-trial detention study conducted by researchers from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has revealed that about 43% of cases did not require detention or the pursuit of charges.

The study found that the issuance of admission-of-guilt fines was sufficient for those charges.

Farm Josephine's murder suspect commits suicide

The suspect in a double murder case at Farm Josephine in the Dordabis district of the |Khomas Region has committed suicide.

The Namibian Police traced the suspect in the farm killings, identified as 30-year-old Michael Simaneka Martin, to the Oshikweyo Village of Eheke in the Oshana Region.
