The Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL) on Friday morning intercepted four habitual robbers at the Oshivelo checkpoint in the Oshikoto Region.
According to the spokesperson of the Namibian Police, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, this was after they committed robbery on Thursday in the Oshana Region.
Shikwambbi says that the suspected robbers allegedly went into a house where they attacked the victim with a pistol and demanded money from the victim. Later, after the victim told them that he did not have money, they took a bag of clothes that belonged to the victim and fled with it.
The suspects then jumped into their vehicle, a silver Toyota Corolla, which was later found near the Menduletu complex at Total Service Station near the old Fysal Building.
They were pursued, and at the Oshivelo checkpoint, the officers were ready, and they were apprehended, upon which the police found several cellphones and a motor gate remote control.
The suspects face charges of armed robbery with aggravating circumstances and malicious damage to property at Ondangwa and armed robbery with aggravating circumstances and malicious damage to property at Oshakati.
Shikwambi revealed that the three suspects (in pictures) face additional charges.
Aktofel Kamudulunge Likius ‘Sixa’ Shikongo (31) is facing charges of murder and robbery; Petrus Shikongo ‘Shilumbu’ or ‘Kim’ (24) is facing charges of armed robbery; and Wilhelm Sheehama George ‘Kakuva’ (29) attempted murder, robbery, and escaping from lawful custody.
