Paulus Shipanga, the coach of the Brave Gladiators, recently spoke to NBC Sport about the team's experience at the COSAFA games in South Africa and their preparations for the upcoming WAFCON Qualifiers in Ghana.

Coach Shipanga provided insights into the Brave Gladiators' performance at the COSAFA games held last month in South Africa. Looking ahead, he revealed that the team is gearing up for the WAFCON Qualifiers, which will take place in Accra, Ghana on the 1st of December.

Women in football still not equal to their male counterpart

According to a 2022 report by the International Federation of Professional Footballers, only 18% of female football players across the world can truly be registered as professionals.  

As per FIFA definition, this means that these players have written contracts and are paid for their work as well as the expenses they incur.

Kordom takes step back from national team

Brave Gladiators' forward Annoushka Kordom has announced that she will be taking a step back from doing national duties, citing unresolved issues with team management, including uncertainties relating to payment.

Kordom said this on her social media platforms on Wednesday.

Kordom added that the NFA women's desk is aware of her concerns, explaining that the current SG responded to her email, acknowledging receipt and promising to send a formal response after verifying the details.
