Consistent rainfall in Rundu has led to soil erosion in parts of the Tutungeni location.

Kavango East Governor Hamunyera Hambyuka has called for urgent solutions to prevent further damage.

Kavango East Governor Hamunyera Hambyuka and his team inspected the water supply infrastructure in Rundu just a day after Urban and Rural Development Minister James Sankwasa's meeting on the water crisis. 

Kavango East Governor Hamunyera Hambyuka has assured residents of the region that the leadership will leverage the 2023 census results to improve planning and effectively monitor development progress.

He made these remarks during the launch of the regional profile report. 

The Stina Youth Growth Foundation donated food parcels worth N$40,000 for vulnerable residents of the Kavango East Region.

Receiving the donation was Kavango East Governor Hamunyera Hambyuka.

In the Kavango East Region, an amount of over N$243 million was invested in the health care programmes over the last financial year.

The funds went towards the renovation of two district hospitals, three healthcare centres, and 25 clinics and assisted in the outreach programme.

The Kavango East Region is focusing on enhancing its agriculture sector to improve the livelihood of its residents. 

This was communicated during the maiden State of the Region address by Governor Hamunyera Hambyuka.
