The decade-old vacancy of the CEO position at the Kalkrand Village Council has hindered development, causing delays in governance and infrastructure projects. 

While expressing gratefulness for the initiatives introduced by the Rehoboth Town Council to bring about development in the town, the residents want the council to pay attention to their needs.

This includes streetlights, water and sewage services in the informal settlements, and waste disposal.

The Republican Party of Namibia (RP) has pledged to focus on agricultural development in the Zambezi and Kavango regions to boost job creation and reduce the migration of residents to Aussenkehr in the ||Kharas Region for employment in grape companies.
