The Prime Minister's office has rejected claims that the distribution of drought relief rice to the Oshikoto Region was influenced by tribal factors.

There is a shortage in the number of rice bags to be distributed in the region compared to the needy households identified.

India has donated a thousand tonnes of rice and maize to Namibia's Drought Relief efforts. 

This was announced by the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Jenelly Matundu during a reception in Windhoek, marking the 76th Republic Day of India. 

In order to explore opportunities in trade and investment between Namibia and Tanzania, the two countries hosted a business and investment forum in Windhoek.

Namibia and Tanzania share a strong history dating back to the liberation struggle, where Tanzania assisted Namibia in achieving its independence.

Japan has, to date, dispatched more than 100 teachers across different schools, while the construction of additional classrooms in Namibia continues.

The University of Namibia's Ogongo Campus held its annual rice harvest this year of 12 metric tonnes. The rice is sold locally.
