Ohangwena Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa has handed over a new house to an elderly woman with a disability at Oshandi Village.

A memorandum of understanding on housing development has been signed between Helao Nafidi Town Council, the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia, and the Namibia Housing Action Group in Helao Nafidi, Ohangwena Region.

Minister of Urban and Rural Development James Sankwasa has called on Namibians to reject tribalism and corruption, urging unity and collective responsibility in building the nation.

Ohangwena Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa says the region is well prepared to host a memorable 36th independence celebration to be held at Oshikango in Helao Nafidi town. 

The Namibia Exile Kids Association is now affiliated with the SWAPO Party. 

Its president, Kadiva Hamutumwa, announced this during the association's Central Committee Meeting.

The association was established to oversee the welfare of children born in exile.

Ohangwena Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa asserts that, although the region has achieved more in recent times, it is still plagued by numerous challenges. 

Ohangwena Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa has urged public servants and employees of public enterprises in the region to uphold ethical standards and adopt a zero-tolerance approach to corruption.

Ohangwena Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa, flanked by regional leaders, visited the homestead of the late war veteran Kanana Hishoono in Onambutu Village to console his bereaved family.

In a move to improve the welfare of educators, the Ohangwena Regional Governor, Kadiva Hamutumwa, handed over the construction site for a new teacher's accommodation facility at Helao Nafidi Combined School in the Okongo Constituency.

The project is estimated to cost N$1.4 million.

Ohangwena Regional Council Chairperson, Erickson Ndawanifa, has called for unity among regional councillors, emphasising that collective effort is key to improving the lives of all inhabitants in the region.
