The hopes of many crop farmers in the Ohangwena region for a successful harvest have been dashed due to floods from Angola that have partially submerged their mahangu fields.

Residents, including children from Ohangwena Region's Onamhinda village, were relocated to higher grounds after their houses and mahangu fields were submerged by floodwaters from southern Angola.

Junior Primary teachers trained in early numeracy

Twenty-eight Junior Primary teachers in the Ohangwena Region received training in numeracy and ethno-mathematics.

This training was funded by Lutheran University Tacoma, Washington, through the Uukumwe Project, a collaboration between educators from Namibia and the U.S.

Floods strand over 21 learners at Udjombala Secondary School

21 learners at Udjombala Secondary School in the Ohangwena Region are stranded at the school due to surrounding floodplains. The learners, from distant villages, began camping at the school on the 9th of this month for safety.
