Omaheke Governor Pijoo Nganate and various heads of institutions in the region are working to strengthen safety measures following the recent brutal killings of innocent lives. 

The chairperson of the Ozombahe Farmers Cooperative at Omitara in the Okorukambe Constituency, Willem Haoseb, is pleased with the progress made in terms of poverty alleviation and job creation for local people. 

Ozombaze Farmers' Cooperative donated food items to Omitara's Otjivero Combined School in the Omaheke Region.

The Chairperson of the Cooperative, Willem Haoseb, indicated that if all goes according to plan, they will extend assistance to community members in the Omitara settlement. 

The leaders of some traditional authorities in the Omaheke Region said they are in agreement with the commemoration of the Genocide Remembrance Day on the 28th of May.

Given the above-average rainfall that has been experienced in the Omaheke Region, it is expected that the farming communities will have a bumper harvest and rear good quality livestock while contributing meaningfully to the country's economy. 

The lack of key services such as health facilities, schools, road infrastructure, and proper network coverage for mobile phones and radios negatively affects the living standards of those residing in some villages in the Epukiro Constituency.

The Otjomunguindi and Otuindjo villages in the Epukiro Constituency have received solar-powered boreholes, water tanks, and troughs.

This comes after a decade of water scarcity that affected both humans and livestock.

A retired agricultural extension officer and a farmer in Omaheke's Rietfontein area, Edward Kaseraera, has urged women and young people to take a lead in agriculture.

Kaseraera made this remark during a farmers engagement day held at Okandjoze in the Otjombinde Constituency.

The company Suncrest Farming Solutions has called on crop-producing communities in the Epukiro Constituency of the Omaheke Region to prioritize horticulture and fodder production after the area recorded good rainfall.

Fred Mandaha, the Acting Head of Training at the Gobabis Vocational Training Centre, has encouraged schools in the Omaheke Region to visit the centre regularly to learn about the trades it offers.
