Vaalgras welcome plans for shrine to honour Kaptein Hendrik Witbooi

The Community of Vaalgras has welcomed the motion proposing the erection of an ever-lighting shrine in honour of Kaptein Hendrik Witbooi in their village. 

They shared these sentiments during consultations with the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Resources and Community Development.

Members of the |Khowese clan have applauded a motion proposing the erection of an ever-lighting shrine to honour their late Kaptein Hendrik Witbooi in the Vaalgras area, where he is believed to have succumbed to injuries sustained during a battle with German imperial forces. 

GIPAN condemns 5% annual pension increase

The Government Institution Pensioners' Association in Namibia (GIPAN) has rejected the five percent annual pension increase by the Government Institution Pension Fund.

The Chairperson of GIPAN, Raphael Pieters, argued that the increment is 0.46 percent less than the previous financial year.

Keetmanshoop VTC nearly complete

Construction work being carried out at the Keetmanshoop Vocational Training Centre is about 89 percent complete.

Construction of the N$103 million Keetmanshoop VTC, funded by the government, commenced in January 2021.
