SADC region, despite peaceful outlook, faces security challenges

While the southern African region remains peaceful and stable, there are still security challenges in some parts of the SADC that require an effective response.

Promoting peace and security within the SADC region topped the agenda at the Extra Ordinary Troika Summit in Lusaka, Zambia.

Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah was among the attendees.

The Troika took stock and tracked progress on the situation in the Cabo Delgado province of northern Mozambique as well as the northern Kivu province in eastern DRC, marred by instability over the years. 

Swapo VP hails unity restoration in Otjozondjupa

Swapo Party Vice President and Presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah, has congratulated the Otjozondjupa Regional Leadership for restoring peace and unity among its members.

Nandi-Ndaitwah was speaking at the Otjiwarongo Rally held at the DRC Informal Settlement.

"I was happy to hear from Comrade Imms when he emphasised the point that unity is what governs the Otjozondjupa Region. Congratulations, Comrade, and we must keep it up. Unity of purpose and action is very important if we have to achieve our set goals."
