The Vice President and Patron of the annual Omaludi Agricultural Festival, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has called on farmers to add value to their produce and create jobs.

Nandi-Ndaitwah officially opened the 4th Omaludi Agricultural Festival at Okongo. 

The Omaludi Festival brings together farmers and the business community from the northern regions to showcase their services, animals, and agricultural produce.

Nandi-Ndaitwah hailed the festival for growing by leaps and bounds over the past six years since its inception. 

Workers of NovaNam Fishing Company at Luderitz are demanding an employee share payout incentive.

Picketing in front of the company's main entrance during lunch hour, the workers maintain the company has unilaterally changed their 15% shareholding into an Employee Trust Fund (ETF).

Furthermore, they accused the management of keeping them in the dark about their share of money amounting to N$10,3 million.

Hundreds of senior people in the Donkerhoek, Katutura, have been identified by Round Table Namibia, a nonprofit organisation that focuses on community-based projects to improve the lives of communities, as beneficiaries of their programme.

During the winter, the organisation has been raising funds to support elderly people and vulnerable communities that are at risk across Namibia.

So far, they have been giving back to the community by providing primary healthcare, assisting vulnerable households, and running a soup kitchen.
