Ndeitunga calls on Namibians to find ways of resolving conflict

The newly appointed Ohangwena Regional Governor, Sebastian Ndeitunga, has called on Namibians, mainly the youth, to find ways of resolving conflict without resorting to violence to reduce gender-based violence.

Ndeitunga, who was appointed two weeks ago in the position, made this call during his maiden address as governor when he officiated at the regional launch of the Commemoration of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

The event was held at Ohaingu village in the Engela Constituency on Tuesday.

Ohangwena Governor sues Tomas Puleinge

Ohangwena Regional Governor Walde Ndevashiya, through his lawyers Sisa Namandje & Co., has instituted legal action against Tomas Puleinge, demanding N$250,000 in compensation, following a widely circulated audio in which Puleinge alleged that the two children of a 31-year-old woman who was killed in Eenhana by her long-term boyfriend over the weekend were fathered by Ndevashiya.

The Governor also requested that Puleinge retract his defamatory statement no later than 19:00 this evening, Monday.
