Top Government Officials Discuss Service Delivery

Executive Directors of offices, ministries, and agencies, as well as Chief Regional Officers, have convened at Swakopmund to discuss factors hampering service delivery.

Officially opening the two-day event, Secretary to the Cabinet Dr. George Simataa said the issue of lack of service delivery to citizens has become topical and needs to be addressed.

Dr. Simataa stressed that challenges such as poverty and unemployment should not have a place in the country if the group of administrators gathered at this first-ever event did the right thing.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources says the findings from the investigation into illegal lithium mining at Uis indicate that there are some loopholes in the law that need fixing.

Tjekero Tweya informed Erongo Governor Neville Andre that the investigation shows that ministries, regional governments, and responsible agencies are not talking to each other to close the loopholes.

Six mines and energy subcommittee members under the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources paid a courtesy call on Erongo Governor Neville Andre.
