The increasing influx of immigrants from neighbouring Angola into the Omusati Region has raised concerns among local authorities and farmers. 

NamWater has switched on a pump at the Olushandja Dam South Wall Pump Station, releasing water into the Etaka Uuvudhiya Earth Canal, to assist in mitigating the critical shortage of water in villages along the canal.

The water corporation has invested N$3.9 million in the undertaking. 

In a significant community-driven effort, the residents of Otshikutshatshipya Village in the Omusati Region, along with local businesspeople, have successfully built a new and improved outreach point.

The Omusati Region paid its respects to the late President Hage Geingob through a memorial service that brought the community together in remembrance.
