Kyrgyzstan seeks Namibia’s backing for AU observer status

Kyrgyzstan is lobbying for Namibia’s support in its bid to secure observer status at the African Union (AU).

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met for bilateral talks on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has thanked the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, for her encouragement and moral support as she assumed Namibia’s leadership role.

The two leaders met briefly at the UN headquarters, where they discussed matters of mutual concern between Namibia and Barbados.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah appointed Naanda, who takes over from Ambassador Neville Gertze.
