Members of parliament in the National Council supported the vote for the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, commending the government for installing network towers in key village areas.
Network towers infrastructure and ICT solutions provider, Powercom, has commissioned 25 network towers country-wide at a cost of 40 million dollars.
The Namibian government has allocated N$110 million over three years for the installation of 30 network towers.
This is intended to address the digital disparity and improve nationwide access to information.
