UUKWAMBI STARTS PREPARATIONS FOR OMAGONGO FESTIVAL

Uukwambi Traditional Authority has already started with preparations for the hosting of the Omagongo festival.

The festival rotates among the eight traditional authorities of Aawambo ethnic goups. 

Omagongo festival, has become a key cultural celebration since its inception about 25 years ago.

Nandi-Ndaitwah pushes for solutions to keep floodplain schools open

Given prospects of good rainfall, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has said discussions are on to ensure that schools in floodplain areas do not close during the rainy season.

Schools such as Onghala, Ohaingu, Oudjobala and Shingunguma would need urgent intervention to avoid their temporary closures.
