The President of the Republican Party (RP), Henk Mudge, has publicly criticized the government and the United Nations over their handling of the "Pact of the Future," adopted at the UN's 75th General Assembly.

Delegates from different groupings, including policymakers, civil society, and youth organisations, share their expectations, which they hope will be reflected in the Pact of the Future and the Global Action Pact.

UN member states have adopted the Pact of the Future by consensus during the opening of the Summit of the Future.

The Pact of the Future paves the way for concrete steps to respond to emerging challenges and opportunities through an action-oriented outcome.

President Nangolo Mbumba has underscored that the future will not and cannot rest solely on well-crafted documents.

He says the true measure of success therefore lies in the effective implementation of the Pact for the Future, the Global Digital Compact, and the Declaration on Future Generations.

President Nangolo Mbumba has highlighted a concern that the global systems established since 1945 continue to favour the countries that emerged victorious from World War II. 

According to the President, it is time for the Summit of the Future to address and correct this longstanding imbalance.

Negotiations for the Pact of the Future and the Global Compact, which will be adopted at the end of the Summit of the Future, are in their final stages. 

The Pact has to be agreed upon by all UN member states by consensus.
