China has announced that it would impose 84-percent tariffs on goods it imports from the USA.

The new retaliatory tariffs are expected to come into effect on April 10, China’s Finance Ministry said. 

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) says the reciprocal tariffs imposed by the U.S. nullify the benefits member states had under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

SADC is the latest to react to the tariff increment by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The United States and Namibia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on renewable energy development.

The agreement focusses on clean energy sources such as solar, wind, and green hydrogen.
