Zambia's founding president, Kenneth Kaunda's oldest daughter, Catherine, who died last Saturday while visiting her country, was buried in Lusaka on Thursday.

A book of condolences has been opened in Windhoek for the late Catherine Kaunda, the eldest daughter of Zambia's founding President, Kenneth Kaunda, who passed away on Saturday.

Zambians celebrated Kenneth Kaunda Day, a public holiday honouring the Founding President, who would have turned 102 on Tuesday.

Various activities took place in the capital, Lusaka. The day began with a five-kilometre marathon, followed by a church service.

 As Namibia celebrates its 36th Independence celebrations, Zambia's founding President Kenneth Kaunda's son Kaweche has cautioned Namibians not to fall into the trap of division. 

The daughter of the late Founding President of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda, says Dr. Sam Nujoma was more than just a President who gave her family a home to stay in but a father figure who stood by her during her stay in Namibia.
