The Minister of Justice and Labour Relations, Wise Immanuel, is attending the Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting underway in Nadi, Fiji. 

Ministers from 56 jurisdictions have called for strengthened rule of law frameworks to address mounting global challenges.

The Magistrates Commission informed Justice Minister Wise Immanuel on Friday that it had approved a new benefits scale for magistrates and requested that the minister gazette the scale in terms of the law.

The ministry has issued 30 compliance orders, 20 of which are now under appeal. 

Minister suspends Voluntary Separation at Sinomine Smelter

Minister of Justice and Labour Relations Wise Immanuel has suspended the Voluntary Separation (VS) scheme at Sinomine Tsumeb Smelter.

The decision followed hours of negotiations that failed to produce a consensus between the company’s management and the Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN).
